Guest Artist from Birds in Art @ LYWAM

Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum artist-in-residence, Timothy David Mayhew, working with East drawing students.

Using charcoal reed holders students practice measuring, sighting, and alternate grip techniques to draw animal skulls.

Timothy demonstrates pentimento: a light preliminary layout drawing that remains as evidence of an artist's original intentions, thoughts, & proportions.  Visit Leigh Yawkey to view Timothy's work or look at his website @ http://www.timothydavidmayhew.com/

Students each created ink post-it note drawings of their choice to be combined into one collaborative piece.  This work hangs in the hallway outside the Art Department rooms.
